We're working hard to launch a 24/7 helpline dedicated to providing children and teenagers across the UK with care, support, and resources to help them. We will provide updates when we're ready to launch the helpline.
Immediate help in urgent situations like abuse, homelessness, or mental health struggles. You will never face a crisis alone.
A safe, private space to share what's on your mind. These can range from stress and anxiety, to challenges at home or school.
Our helpline gives you the chance to speak to someone closer to your age, in a way that feels natural and supportive.
Direct links to food banks, housing aid, health clinics, and school support so you can get help quickly.
Our volunteers are professionally trained to provide the best support, and are ready to listen, guide, and connect you with the support you need.
Thank you for supporting Still Unseen. If you're aged 16+ and would like to volunteer, please sign up to our volunteer mailing list below! Diolch i chi gyd.
You can provide a safe, supportive, and non-judgmental space for young people to express themselves through listening actively and compassionately, and offering empathy and validation rather than attempting to fix the issue. Your role is not to fix problems, but allow callers know they are heard and not alone.
All conversations are confidential, except where a safeguarding concern is identified. Volunteers must communicate exclusively through the approved helpline platforms, such as the designated phone, email, or SMS system and are strictly prohibited from using personal accounts, numbers, and emails.
If a message distresses you beyond your role, you will receive support. This structure ensures the wellbeing of you, the volunteer.
All volunteers must be aged between 16-20, must go through training, which will be provided to you through a volunteer training pack. Some requirements of you would be to go through a DBS check with your college/sixth form/university would help you sort out.
Signatures for agreements containing policies and regulations are required. You will need to follow these policies and regulations while volunteering for the Still Unseen helpline.
There's no minimum age for the helpline. If you have a phone, you would be able to call us and talk about what is going on. Anyone aged 19 or under should have a safe space to talk about their feelings and seek advice and support from us.
You will be speaking with trained volunteers who are around your own age. They are students and teens who understand what it's like to face real-life pressures, and they have been trained in how to listen and respond safely.
Anything that's on your mind! That might include family issues, school stress, bullying, mental health, or feeling isolated or unheard. No topic is too small. If it matters to you, we will listen.
Yes, these calls are confidential unless we think you or someone else is in serious danger. In these rare cases, we would speak to our Designated Safeguarding Lead (DSL), who might contact the right services to keep you safe. But, we will always try to involve you in that decision.
You can contact us through SMS, Email, or through Phone. All of our contact details will be shared once we launch publicly.
Every volunteer undergoes required safeguarding and communication training. This includes how to listen without judgement, handle difficult topics, escalate concerns safely. We work under strict teenage/child safeguarding policies, and ensure the wellbeing of our volunteers.
Poverty isn’t just about money, it affects confidence, mental health, education, and relationships. This helpline gives young people a safe space to talk about those challenges without feeling ashamed or alone. Speaking up is the first step toward change.
